CMC Pensarn Harbour is offering capable people wanting to pursue a career in Outdoor Education an opportunity to gain many of the prerequisite personal skill awards in an intensive 8 week training programme. As a centre recognised by the MLTE, BCU/WCA, RYA and AALA we have over 42 years experience working in the outdoors.

Trained and coached by our highly qualified and experienced team you will develop your personal skills to a high standard extremely quickly. Our instructional staff are full time employed in the outdoors and their experience will not only guide you through our training programme but provide you with a "what to do next" action plan. This course is designed to prepare you for the coaching awards provided by the National Governing Bodies.

CMC is sited in Harbour Buildings with direct access to the water. We are only 10 minutes from the beach and open sea. The river estuary that we are on the banks of, is grade 2 – 4 giving us access to moving water in the winter. A few minutes drive from the Rhinog mountains and the crags of the Moelwyns and Tremadog you couldn't be better placed for this type of course.

  • BCU Foundation Safety and Rescue Course
  • BCU New 2 Star Award
  • BCU New 3 Star Award
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2
  • RYA Safety Boat Course
  • RYA Dinghy Level 1 & 2
  • National Navigation Award Scheme
  • Personal Rock Climbing Tuition
  • 5 Full Days Contact Time Per Week
  • High Instructor To Student Ratios
  • Accommodation and Meals

The cost of the pre-instructor training program is £3250 per person. This includes full board accommodation on site, supply of all equipment, full training programme and all fees for the above courses and syllabus.  You simply wont find better opportunity or value anywhere else!

A bursary to cover the residential elements of the course may be available to those who will benefit most and are most in need. Please enquire.

It does not cover personal membership or registration with any necessary Governing Body prior to taking the awards. This is the responsibility of each course member; however, full guidance on obtaining these will be given where required. Whilst every effort will be made to ensure you achieve as many awards as possible we cannot guarantee everyone will achieve every award.
